The Painted Sky Music Festival will return for its fifth season, this July, bringing another colorful array of chamber music with a twist events to Northern Arizona. This postponed season will be bittersweet, as we are operating wihout the humor, creativity, and bold personality of Michael Sullivan, our departed Co-Artistic Director, at the helm. After Michael lost his battle with cancer last June, we debated long and hard, to determine what the most thoughtful and appropriate future for Painted Sky would be. And, in close consultation with his family and friends, we have decided that we can keep his generous, festive spirit alive by continuing to share our energetic performances with Arizona audiences. So, we have special programs planned for this year, which will highlight Michael's favorite music performed by his closest colleagues from around the country. And, we will be donating a sizable portion of our ticket sales, to the scholarship fund that was set up, at Northern Arizona University, in his honor.
